Seeing that they still spell ä and ö as ae and oe in some Olympic events (but not all? lol what), I realized that it would lead native English speakers to pronounce my last name as Lamesay. I'm just saying. If I ever need a stage name for whatever reason, I'm definitely going with that.

I'm kind of glad I've gone back to paying more attention to JE recently, because really, kpop is not a particularly happy place right now. It's not even the Jay thing, because I got into 2PM knowing all about the drama and angst, so I don't think I have any right to complain when the fandom delivers on that. But also SuJu! SJ-M, especially. I hate getting all serious business about fandom because it's always been such a fun part of my life, so basically I just like to ignore all negative things as much as possible. The boys of Kanjani8 are still as random and silly as they've always been, right? Give me my YasuBaru, stat! (I really feel like watching old Countdowns right now, actually. I might do that while waiting for Finland's bronze game.)

Okay, yeah, my current music reminds me that bandom isn't all that shiny and happy these days, either. Oh fandom.

I keep getting new icons but then I never post, so nobody gets to see how pretty they are. And I have a Kame mood theme! I think I'm just going to start picking a random mood every time to see what comes up. Actually, I'm moodswingy enough that I don't even have to do that.

OLYMPICS IN FOUR DAYS. Not that I'm counting.

Also randomly, or not quite, I spent most of last week listening to Adam Lambert (AND REALLY LIKING WHAT I HEARD *__*) mainly because I saw FYE on Voice and got curious, and apparently I'm really easy to win over. I already liked the guy from what little I knew about him, but seriously his music is also insanely fun. I'm sure everyone knew this already! I'm just fashionably late as always. Also, I would just like to say that I totally blame [livejournal.com profile] flabbergast for most of this. (Obviously not the part where I was sadly behind on the times.)

Ugh, we FINALLY managed to watch Countdown. It wasn't as epic as last year's (or some other previous occasions), but it made me feel warm and fuzzy and full of love for JE after being so kpop-focused recently.

some highlights I can remember )

The most amusing thing about the new season of (Finnish) Big Brother is that there's a dude called Nino. And I think he's gay? I can't actually keep these guys straight yet, pun very much intended.

It was Kanjani8's 5-year anniversary yesterday, and I only realized it when I came online today and my flist was full of celebratory posts. I love this fandom, and I love Eito. ♥

Dear flist, or random people passing by,

which drama should I watch next? This is srs bsns, you know. I haven't seen any of the newest ones, besides Atashinchi no Danshi. And it could totally be an old one too, as long as it's subbed. If it stars anyone from Kanjani8/KAT-TUN/NEWS, I've probably seen it, though.

Also, I do actually have Yasuko to Kenji, Bloody Monday, Ikebukuro West Gate Park, Innocent Love and Tokyo Friends waiting on my hd, I just can't decide if I want to watch any of them right now. Opinions?

I can't be expected to make these decisions on my own. :P

I screencapped the hell out of Johnny's Countdown, but ugh with the horrible quality. Therefore, just my favorite fools starting 2009 in their usual style:

I've been having these Brendon thoughts lately. I mean, sure, RyRo is my boy, but the more I listen to that pretty odd album a certain band recently released, I keep having thoughts like "Brendon, baby, call me. Let's talk about all these things that we so obviously have in common." I may be losing it.

In other, very much related news: one of my neighbours looks JUST LIKE Mikeyway. I swear to god. I did the most embarrassing doubletake the first time I saw him. He was carrying a guitar case, hello, what the fuck.

And then, today, I ran into a dude who was the longlost twin of Patrick Stump. And I'm not really complaining, because these things are at the very least totally amusing, but where are my Panic boys? Really.

Anyway. I still love Kanjani8 more than any of these fools, I'm sorry to say. Subaru, baby. ♥ (see icon)

ETA (the next day, when it's actually appropriate): Happy birthday, Leena! I'm sure you're lurking somewhere out there. ;)

Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] alicated! I hope your day and the coming year will be wonderful. ♥ (And what better opportunity to use my newest icon, featuring TLW's fabulous Alice.)

So, tonight I: watched Hot Fuzz (OMG LOVE! Everyone who pimped it to me was so right) and finally got around to listening to A Fever You Can't Sweat Out. I've been reading bandom fic for a few weeks now, and for some reason I instantly developed a fondness for Panic at the Disco (Ryan Ross, guh) to the point that I don't want to read fic about other bands (though the thing about bandom is that the fics are pretty much *never* about just one band, and I don't mind, but I want PatD, especially Ryan/Brendon, to be the main focus). SO. ANYWAY. Now that I've listened to the songs, other than I Write Sins Not Tragedies which I couldn't have escaped even if I'd wanted to, I am in love with the music as well. (And this reading fic before knowing the source material thing? Very typical for me.) Lying is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off is the SONG OF MY SOUL, oh my god. I mean, this is the song that would have owned me completely if I'd heard it when I was in high school, which is not to say that it doesn't have a profound effect on me right now. And it is seriously disturbing that all these guys are such BABIES. Not that I really care, as everyone I've fangirled recently (see Johnny's Entertainment, kthx) is as well.

Ahem. So. I guess I'm a bandom convert now, or something? Because the thing I obviously need is new fandoms, dear god.

ps. This week's SPN and Lost? So much goodness. And Kame remains the most adorable thing evereverever in 1 Pound no Fukuin.

I've spent most of yesterday and today reading fic, and it's been bliss. And I have a del.icio.us! You should tell me if you have one as well.

(Right, there are currently just PoT and JE fics bookmarked, as that's what I'm in the mood for, but I'm sure I'm going to branch out to things like HP and SPN soon. Or at some point, anyway. Was that enough acronyms for you?)

According to Finnish media, Teemu won the Stanley Cup. Good for him! And the other guys on the team, I guess. ;)

I was going crazy with figuring out how to get all KAT-TUN boys properly represented in my icons, when there are six of them and I don't want to have just KAT-TUN icons and also, Ueda needs at least two (and, uh, so does Jin, apparently. Because he's sex on a stick), etc. These are the things that keep me up at night. But now I have all the boys, in pretty awesome pairings even. My OCD rests easy for a while.
